STUDENT LIFE
Student Handbook
A Student Handbook is issued each semester by the Dean of Students. This handbook contains the policies and guidelines for students attending AGBC.
Matriculated Student Requirements: To attend all College events in the College Academic Calendar.
Spiritual Emphasis
The variety of services available at AGBC underscores its commitment to create a balanced spiritual and learning environment. Each semester begins with Spiritual Emphasis services that are conducted on campus or at a camp. All students are encouraged to maintain regular devotions and to involve themselves in the ministries of a local church.
Chapel Celebrations
Chapel celebrations are conducted Tuesday through Friday during the semester.
Koinonia
Small groups are held weekly to facilitate closer interpersonal relationships between faculty and students. They are led by faculty facilitators.
World Missions
The Missionary Prayer Band seeks to instil mission awareness by means of missions information, prayer for the needs of the world, and direct contributions to various projects through faith pledges and mission trips.
Regular Chapel Services
Special speakers, faculty and graduating students are requested to minister to the student body.
Housing
Housing arrangements are made by the students. The Administrative Office may receive housing arrangement information, and if so, will disseminate it to the students.
College Publications
The Lighthouse, an annual publication, highlights the year’s events and carries scholarly articles of general interest and contemporary significance.
AGBC Today is a college newsletter to keep its constituents informed of the latest developments at the college.
Guidance and Counsel
The college maintains an open counselling programme to assist the students’ development academically, socially, and spiritually. Students are free to seek guidance from those whom they feel are approachable, qualified, and genuinely interested in their welfare.
Engagement/Marriage
Marriage is a life-long commitment that requires adjustment to life and adds responsibilities. In order not to be distracted from the primary purpose of preparing for ministry, any student intending to get engaged or married must first make an appointment with the Dean of Students.
Student Council
Each year the student body elects officers to serve on the Student Council. The Council organizes student activities and meets periodically with the Dean of Students to discuss matters relating to students’ welfare.
Missionary Prayer Band
Each semester the student body elects officers to serve on the Missionary Prayer Band Committee (MPB). The MPB organizes the Missionary Prayer Band chapels, mission trips, and projects.
Alumni Fellowship
The Alumni Fellowship is open to all graduates and former students of the college. The primary purpose is to foster continued fellowship among graduates and former students, as well as, to promote the alma mater among the community.
