Student Life

Student Handbook

The Student Handbook is issued each semester by the Dean of Students. This handbook contains the policies and guidelines for students attending AGBC.

Spiritual Emphasis

The variety of services available at AGBC underscores its commitment to create a balanced spiritual and learning environment. Chapel celebrations are conducted every Tuesday through Thursday during the semester. Each semester begins with a Spiritual Emphasis Week.

World Missions

The Missionary Prayer Band which meets every Friday seeks to instill missions awareness by means of missions information, prayer for the needs of the world and direct contributions to various projects through faith pledges and mission trips.

Koinonia

Small groups are held weekly to facilitate closer interpersonal relationships between faculty and students. They are led by student facilitators.

In addition, a college camp is held in conjunction with the second semester Spiritual Emphasis Week.

Housing

AGBC does not provide hostel facilities for international students. Housing arrangements may be made with the Dean of Students on an ad-hoc basis.

College Publications

The Lighthouse, an annual publication, highlights the year's events and carries scholarly articles of general interest and contemporary significance.

In addition, AGBC also publishes bi-annually AGBC Today to keep its constituents informed of the latest developments at the college.

Guidance and Counsel

The college maintains an open counseling programme to assist the students' development academically, socially and spiritually. Students are free to seek guidance from those whom they feel are approachable, qualified and genuinely interested in their welfare.

Engagement / Marriage

Marriage is a life long commitment that requires adjustment to life and added responsibilities. In order not to be distracted from the primary purpose of preparing for ministry, any student intending to get engaged or married must first make an appointment for counseling with the Dean of Students.

Student Council

Each year the student body elects officers to serve on the Student Council. The Council organizes student activities and meets periodically with the Dean of Students to discuss matters relating to students' welfare.

Alumni Fellowship

The Alumni Fellowship is open to all graduates and ex-students of the college. The primary purpose is to foster continued fellowship among graduates and ex-students, as well as to promote the alma mater among the community.
